Don't Get Tricked!
Discover the reality behind my Airbnb Stay
The owner admitted to me that he knew about the termite problem, saying he became aware of it after closing on the house. I don’t know how long ago that was, but the damage was clearly visible.
Despite knowing about the infestation, he and Airbnb still rented the home without any disclosure.
In many jurisdictions, it is illegal for an Airbnb host to rent out a property with a known termite infestation without disclosing it.
This violates some state disclosure laws regarding material defects and also Airbnb’s own policies on unsafe, uninhabitable conditions.
Failure to disclose can open the door to serious consequences, including tenant claims for damages, termination of the lease, and even suspension or banning from the Airbnb platform.
This home should never be rented on Airbnb again. What do you think.

Unacceptable Stay or just my opinion.

Is the $200 credit on my next Airbnb stay a reasonable solution?
Order of events
Day 1, I was told they planned to re-sod during my stay. I immediately shut that down.
Day 3 (Mother’s Day): They pressure-washed nonstop, all day long. No notice, no consideration, completely out of line
First 1 week the front door lock did not work. Basic security 101 and they couldn’t get that right
Exterminator drama: We scheduled termite treatment twice. I rearranged my work week, stayed home both times and both times, no one showed.
Owner relations: The homeowner and I had an agreement. Then he pulled in the property management company. Everything went downhill fast, nasty, unnecessary & avoidable.
Compensation mess: They offered me an extra week as compensation. Airbnb tried to charge me. After a fight, I did get the week at no cost, but the hassle should never have happened.
The breaking point.
Airbnb knew about the issues, the trouble, the hassle, the inconvenience, and my serious health concerns (I have multiple sclerosis & am immunocompromised).
The Grand Solution was…
Wait for it…
a $200 credit on my next Airbnb stay.
That’s like setting my house on fire and handing me a coupon for matches.
All of these pictures and videos are from the disgusting Airbnb I stayed in from May 9th, 2025 through July 14th, 2025, in Safety Harbor, Florida.
What a wonderful town.
What an absolutely terrible Airbnb experience.
I don't want this to happen to anyone else.
